Pre-Registration Procedures
In the past, we allowed contestants to Pre-Register for an upcoming pageant without having to pay any fees at the time of registration. Once a contestant registered, they would be guaranteed a spot in the pageant. After we received a certain amount of registrations we would then schedule a date and time for the pageant and make this announcement to those who are already pre-registered, and to the public.
Pre-Registered contestants would then have to pay any registration fees owed no later than one week after we made the announcement of the pageant date. Then their entry fees would be due one month prior to the pageant date. This arrangement caused many problems.
There were many contestants who never confirmed their spot in the pageant after we announced the date, and even contestants who confirmed their spot after our announcement never paid their entry fees. So the Young Miss Pageants staff has decided that when Pre-Registering for our pageants, you will pay all fees upfront, unless you set up a payment schedule with the Director. In turn, we will offer the date, time and location of the pageant when Pre-Registration begins so that you are not registering and paying for a pageant without knowing the date and location.
We hope that by changing the Pre-Registration rules, we can prevent contestant no-shows, which will allow us to provide a fair competition for all age divisions.
What is the benefit of Pre-Registering?
- You are Guaranteed a spot in the Pageant
- There will be Pre-Registration discounts for registration fees or entry fees.
- More time to prepare for the pageant. Once you Pre-Register, you will receive your Contestant Folder within two weeks, therefore, giving you more time to create your routines, find outfits, etc.
